  • Who is eligible to use the METNET Connect service?

  • How does a participant enter a Connect Meeting without a StarID account?
    Anyone without a METNET Connect account may participate in Connect meetings and access online Connect content (such as recordings and presentations) through a browser as Guests using the URL provided to them. If this is not working please contact the meeting host or content owner. The permission for the meeting or content may be set incorrectly. Meeting Hosts should set the Connect Meeting Settings to "Available to anyone with the URL".
     
  • How do students enter a Connect meeting?
    Students enrolled in courses do not need an account. Meeting Hosts should set the Connect Meeting Settings to "Available to anyone with the URL". Students may then access online Connect content and participate in web conferences and webcasts through a browser as Guests using the URL provided to them.
  • How are recording settings changed so that they can be viewed without logging in?
    Recordings are set to Private by default. You need to change the setting to Public to allow access without a login.
    To allow viewing access to an individual recording:

    Log in to Connect.
    Click on the Meetings tab at the top, directly under "Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro".
    Click on the Name of the meeting and the Meeting Information will be displayed.
    Locate the gray "Meeting Information" Title bar and just above it there is a "Recordings" link (2nd from right). Click on this link.
    Locate the recording and click in the check box at the left to select it. 
    Click on the "Access Type" button.
    Click radio button for "Public" or "Private" and "Save".

     
  • How do I upload a file to my Connect Content Library?

    1. Log in to Connect and click the Content tab.
    2. Optional - Create a Folder to store file(s).
    3. Click the New Content link on the navigation bar. 
    4. Add file name such as title, Custom URL, summary.
    5. Navigate to the presentation and click its name.
    6. Click the Save button at the bottom of page.

     

  • How do I move a recording to my Connect Content Library?

    1. Log in to Connect and click on the Meetings tab. By default, recordings are stored within the meeting. Recordings should be moved to the Content Library for better management.
    2. Click on the meeting title and then the Recordings link at the top.
    3. Check the box next to the recording you wish to move and click the Move to Folder button.
    4. Select the destination folder, and then click Move. The default destination is User Content > your account content folder. 
    5. Click OK to finish. The recording will now appear in your Content tab.
  • How do I download a presentation stored in my Connect Content Library? 
    Steps:

    1. Log in to Connect and click the Content tab.
    2. Navigate to the presentation and click its name.
    3. Click the Download Content link on the navigation bar. Options are download source file and download Output file (.zip). Downloading of both files is recommended.
    4. In Download source files, click a file.
    5. Save the file to your computer or disk.
    6. In Download output files, click the zip file and save it to your computer or disk.

     

StarID

    All faculty and staff of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system are eligible for StarID and can activate one now.

  • How do new users get a METNET-COMET Connect Account?
    Please see the Get Connect page for complete details.

  • Why does METNET-COMET use StarID?
    By using StarID, METNET-COMET will eventually have a common username and password for all services. Users will have fewer logins to remember.
