Get Breeze

Eligibility:
METNET provides Breeze to faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students of MnSCU institutions in the Twin Cities metro-area as well as the COMET (southeast) region. A. METNET Internet account and Password are required to activate a Breeze account. Students can access online Breeze content and participant in web conferences and webcasts through a browser. An account is not needed for this.

REQUEST A METNET Account
If you do not yet have your METNET Internet account, please Contact METNET by E-mail to request an account. Include your name, institution name. position, and TechID number. Users who already have a METNET account should skip this step.

INITIALIZE YOUR METNET ACCOUNT
If you have not yet done so, initialize your METNET Account using the instructions at http://www.metnet.edu/email/howtoinitiate.

ACTIVATE YOUR BREEZE ACCOUNT

New Breeze Users 

  1. Wait at least 20 minutes after initializing you METNET account.
  2. Go to Manage Breeze Account and click on Log into Breeze 5.1 or log into the Breeze 5 Manager. Your Breeze account becomes active the first time you log in to Breeze 5.1.
  3. Locate and click on the button labelled "If you re associated with a METNET institution, use the button below".
  4. Log in using your METNET Internet ID and password.

BREEZE PRESENTER

Breeze Presenter is for Windows Only and is not available on the Macintosh operating system.

Getting Started with Publishing Presentations - (Faculty, Staff, and eligible graduate students only)

  1. Install Adobe Presenter. Presenter is installed as a menu in Microsoft PowerPoint. NOTE: If you download and install Breeze Presenter 6, it will add a Presenter menu inside your PowerPoint application. The Presenter menu allows you to create audio narrated presentations and publish them locally or to the web.
    1. On the left-hand side of the page under "Learn", click on "Getting Started".
    2. Click "Install Adobe Presenter".
    3. After downloading, double-click on the file and follow the installation instructions. After installation is completed, an Adobe Presenteroption will be added to the PowerPoint menubar.
  2. To publish to the Breeze Server, (Faculty, Staff, and eligible graduate students only) the URL to use for Breeze Server Preferences is "https://breeze5.metnet.edu".
  3. Login to Breeze Manager to manage content, including setting permissions or using presentations in courses and curriculums.

CONNECT (BREEZE MEETING)
Getting Started with Creating Meetings - (Faculty, Staff, and eligible graduate students only)

  1. Install Connect (Breeze Meeting) Add-in for Windows or  Macintosh Operating Systems. The Breeze Meeting Add-in allows you to share your screen and upload files to meetings.
  2. Breeze requires that ports 80, 443 and 1935 be open on the routers and firewall. Users may need to check with local tech support staff to verify this.
  3. Test your computer to make sure that you are set up with all of the tools you will need to participate in the meeting.
  4. Add users and create user groups to invite to the Breeze Meeting by visiting the Manage Breeze Account page.
  5. Login to Breeze Manager and click on the New Meeting link on the home page.
  6. Complete the Meeting Creation wizard and enter the meeting room by clicking the Enter Meeting Room button.
  7. To invite other participants from the meeting room, select Invite Participants from the Meeting menu.
